Broadband VoIP Bundle Systems
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is extremely popular at the present time. If you go looking for providers, you will find a great number available. Among the better ones are Vonage and Callcentric.
Without getting into too much technical jargon, here it is in a nutshell, here is what VoIP is and what you can expect.
VoIP makes it possible for you to be able to place calls anywhere in the world through a telephone line that is connected to your computer. You will need software placed on your computer, an adapter on your current phone or both to be able to use the medium. Either way, the end result is the same. Whichever computer you are using for these calls needs to have a DSL connection.
Among the popular benefits and features are the ability to place free class from PC to any phone in the world and the ability to place calls three ways: PC to phone, PC to PC or phone to PC.
So what does all this mean to you, the consumer?
As I understand it, VoIP bypasses the standard phone lines and uses the
Internet as a medium. This dramatically lowers your costs.
The average monthly charge for VoIP service is around $30. Some are lower,
some higher. Just shop around some to find the right plan/price combination
for you.
All have their own benefits and all get you to the same place. Each provider has their own set of features they supply.
Businesses especially can benefit from VoIP phone service. A manager can now actually call their office in Bangkok or Paris and not worry about the phone companys international rates. Conference calls between customers and managers in different countries can be done for the same low rate. Basically, the service allows you to call anywhere in the world for the same low rate. Just watch the target countries associated with the plan you are looking at. Most give you about 35 international locations to call to.
With traditional phone lines, the rates for international calls can range from $.02 per minute to $.05 per minute. At that rate, you would spend $1.20 to $3.00 per hour per phone line. Conference in two other lines and I think you can see how fast that adds up. With VoIP service, you spend approximately $30.00 a month--period.
VoIP is also very neat and trimmed for the residential user as well. This is very nice for those of you who have people living or stationed overseas in the military. You get the same low rate as the business owner, as well as the ability to place free PC to PC calls and free international calls.
For that same rate, most VoIP providers usually throw in a set of standard features for your convenience, including but not limited to call waiting, call waiting with name, caller ID, caller ID with name, call forwarding, three way calling and more.
You can also enjoy support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and there is normally a back office that reflects all aspects of your account. The customer will have access to this back office anytime day or night. This page allows you to edit your address book, block numbers, add voice tags, see billing information, payment information and a lot more than I can mention here. You can even upgrade your service and add or cancel features there.
VoIP provides free PC to phone calls, free PC to PC calls, free international calls, lets you use your computer to place calls, has competitive low rates and gives you access to your account 24 hours a day.
VoIP phone service is definitely worth looking into. To find providers, simply search for VoIP phone service using your favorite search engine. Be sure to compare providers so you get the greatest deal you can, the features you want and it fits your budget and needs.
